Second week of the school camp at Paix-Dieu (Amay, Belgium), a Cistercian abbey with a long history that begins in the 14th century. Today, the Abbaye de la Paix-Dieu is the headquarters of the heritage professions center of AWAP (Walloon Heritage Agency). An ideal setting to raise awareness about the restoration professions, this almost 400-year-old building welcomes us for the last training site of the Painter-Euro-Qualif Erasmus+ project.
Students Ana and Nicoló from Scuola Édile de Siena, Anne-Sophie, Sarah, Assane and Marcelin from Artemisia and Léo and Émelyne from IFAPME are coached by Maurizio Sampieri, Manuel Cardoso and Raphaël Pausé, professionals and trainers from partner schools , implement techniques of lime painting, trompe l'oeil grisaille, faux marble, gilding, and sgraffito in a collective project by sharing feelings and knowledge.
Quick question: do you know what a sgraffito is? We will tell you about this ancestral technique in the next post. See you soon!
