Painting in Parisian churches in the 19th century

From Saint-Germain-des-Prés to Notre-Dame-de-Lorette, the churches of the City of Paris are decorated with murals that make up an exceptional ensemble. The Conservation of civil and religious works of art of the City of Paris, in charge of their restoration, is organizing for the first time two days of exchanges around these monumental decorations.
During two days of study centered around conferences and round tables, the combined views of art historians, heritage curators and curators-restorers, will allow us to examine from new angles the historical, aesthetic and technical issues of these monumental works which constitute real challenges in an artist's life.
